Creating a safer, healthier sleeping environment…
Top of a parent’s worry list for their sleeping baby is sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), also known as cot death. While figures in Ireland have declined in recent years, the National Mortality Paediatric Register states that SIDS remains the leading cause of death during the post-neonatal period of four weeks to 12 months, accounting for 40% of deaths. AeroSleep helps reduce the risk of suffocation, overheating, and inhalation of exhaled air or carbon dioxide, otherwise known as carbon dioxide pooling.
AeroSleep Baby Protect is the perfect mattress cover that not only keeps the mattress free from bacteria and allergens, but also protects your baby. Washable at 60 degrees Celsius and fully portable, the Baby Protect is ideal if you are using hotel etc mattresses. The AeroSleep Baby Protect consists of an open 3D honeycomb structure, through which air circulates freely. Under this layer of air lie two layers that fully protect the mattress.
AeroSleep Baby Protect for Moses, Pram, Crib, Cot and Cot-bed forms a protective layer for your baby’s mattress that is 100% breathable, it helps reduce the risk of SIDS, it acts as a natural air conditioner keeping your baby’s body temperature at an ambient level, and it completely protects baby from mattress nasties and alleviates skin allergies caused by moisture, while at the same time protecting the mattress from urine and vomit.
AeroSleep: The unique sleeping concept
Various studies focusing on baby’s safety while asleep have revealed two contradictory facts:
• The mattress should be air permeable to reduce the risk of suffocation and overheating.
• Mattresses are a breeding ground for bacteria and dust, and are therefore best covered by a mattress protector. An ordinary mattress cover or a water resistant fitted cover, however, cancels out the air-permeable properties of the mattress, which means under normal circumstance parents are forces to choose between an air-permeable mattress or a hygienic one. AeroSleep ticks both boxes and has developed the fully certified and tested Baby Protect.
AeroSleep Baby Protect:
• Lets air and moisture through to reduce the risk of suffocation and overheating.
• Absorbs moisture that evaporates fast.
• Forms an impenetrable shield against bacteria and allergens in the mattress.
AeroSleep is Safe, Hygienic, Practical
1. SAFE
Thanks to the maximal air permeability, AeroSleep helps to reduce the following hazards when your baby sleeps:
- Helps reduce the risk of suffocation:
Always put your baby into his cot or pram on his back to sleep. If he does turn on his tummy while sleeping, he will be able to keep breathing freely. The danger of suffocation reduces considerably.
- Protects against rebreathing CO2:
Optimum discharge of exhaled air (C02), and supply of fresh ambient air.
- Protects against over heating and sweating:
Babies are prone to getting too hot. Through to the 3D honeycomb structure, hot air from the body is removed from the surface area your baby sleeps on and evaporates while fresh ambient air moves in to replace it. In this way, the baby keeps its body temperature under control, which limits the risk of overheating and heat congestion.
2. HYGIENIC
AeroSleep protects the baby against bacteria, allergies and skin irritations thanks to:
- An absorbing intermediate layer captures all moisture. The skin of the baby remains dry and comfortable. Thanks to the air circulation of the 3D honeycomb structure, there is a swift evaporation of moisture. As a result, skin irritations may totally disappear.
- An impenetrable protective film keeps the mattress free from bacteria, fungus and dust. It also prevents contact between your baby and dust, pollen and house dust mites found in the mattress.
3. PRACTICAL
- AeroSleep should be washed at 60°C which is enough to wash away all allergens (house mite excreta, dust, grass pollen, etc.), urine and vomit. It dries very quickly and does not require the tumble dryer so baby enjoys a clean sleeping environment after each wash.
How does AeroSleep work?
AeroSleep uses a patented knitting process that results in a 3D honeycomb structure to create an area of 95% open space that establishes a bed of air on which your baby sleeps. This air layer creates a circulating flow of fresh air reducing the possible risks of cot death, overheating, and sweating.
AeroSleep patented honeycomb structure does not collapse under the large surface area of your baby’s back and body weight. In order to see this for yourself, simply place the layer onto a table and press the full palm of your hand down onto it. This mimics how your baby’s body weight distribution cannot cause the honeycomb layer to collapse, ensuring maximum airflow in and around your baby
